Roof repairs and leaks

Leaks, slipped and broken tiles, ridges, valleys and storm damage, with a 24-hour emergency call-out.

In short

Most roof leaks come from a handful of places: slipped or broken tiles, a failed valley, loose ridge tiles or flashing that has come away. ASAP Roofing finds where the water is actually getting in and repairs it, across Wigan, Leigh, Manchester and the wider North West, with a 24-hour emergency call-out.

Signs your roof needs repairing

  • A drip or damp patch on the ceiling after rain
  • Tiles or slates on the lawn or the drive
  • Ridge tiles that are loose or have lost their mortar
  • Gaps showing in the valley between two roof slopes
  • Flashing pulled away from the chimney or wall
  • Damage after a storm, even if nothing is leaking yet

What the job involves

Find the real source

Water travels along felt and timbers before it shows on a ceiling, so the leak is often not above the damp patch. We trace it back to where it gets in.

Make it safe first

In an emergency the first job is stopping more water getting in, so the house is protected while the proper repair is arranged.

Repair with matching materials

Slipped and broken tiles are replaced or refixed, ridges rebedded, valleys and flashings renewed, using materials that match your roof.

Check the rest of the roof

While we are up there we look over the rest of the roof and tell you about anything else that needs attention, so there are no surprises later.

Clear up and explain

We clear up, then explain what we found and what we did, so you know exactly what was wrong and what has been fixed.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do you do emergency roof repairs?

Yes. ASAP Roofing runs a 24-hour emergency call-out. Call 07476 899564 and we will make the roof safe and stop the water getting in.

Why is my roof leaking when no tiles are missing?

The usual causes are a cracked tile you cannot see from the ground, a worn valley, failed flashing around a chimney or a ridge that has lost its mortar. Felt can also channel water a long way before it drips, which is why tracing the leak matters.

Can you match my existing tiles?

In most cases yes. Where a tile is no longer made we use the closest match, or reuse sound tiles from a less visible part of the roof.

Is storm damage worth repairing straight away?

Yes. One loose tile lets wind get under the next, and a small gap becomes a leak in the next downpour. It is cheaper to fix early.

Do you repair roofs for landlords?

Yes. We repair roofs for homeowners, landlords and letting agencies.
